Serving Sashas Blend™

How do I give it to my pet?

Sashas BlendÔ is easy to give your pet. It is in powder form and pets generally love the taste. Depending on the weight of your pet for instance a 30kg dog would need one teaspoon of powder mixed with food or drink once a day. For the first week we recommend start on half the dose and then build up to the full dose.

What if my pet does not eat his food with Sashas Blend™ in it?

If giving a dry food diet, or your pet is a fussy eater, mix the powder with moist food or liquid or roll into a treat eg: bread/ham/cheese.

If this fails mix into a paste as follows:
Spoon a weeks worth into a cup and mix into a dry paste with a little olive oil or natural yoghurt. Roll into balls and store in an airtight jar in the fridge. These then can be given directly into the mouth or more easily hidden in food or a treat.

Can I bake treats that include Sashas Blend™?

NO YOU CANNOT!!  Sorry, but the actives are very, very delicate and are damaged by any heating above 24 degrees Celsius.

If your pet won’t eat it mixed in with their food then make it into balls and hide it in a treat . You can add it to warm food just before serving but please don’t cook it in anything.

Is it Expensive?

Compared with most other joint health products Sashas BlendÔ is very cost effective.

For you the consumer, it can be confusing - not only is it paramount that the product has to 'work' but you also need to ascertain value for money.

Dosage rates vary significantly for each product so you cannot just determine cost effectiveness based on the retail price or pack size.

Divide the retail price by the doses for your weight pet.

For example for an 11 - 20 kg dog Sashas BlendÔ will last 145 days - see Use & Dosage

Therefore for a 20 kg dog calculate: retail price $ divided by 145 days.

Also consider that Sashas BlendÔ contains no fillers or binders such as the case of some chews or tablets so each dose of Sashas BlendÔ contains 100% active ingredients.

Other FAQ

My dog has diarrhoea/ my dog has vomited what shall I do?

Firstly there is no need the panic!

Sashas Blend™ is highly concentrated and in rare instances, for some animals, this type of reaction may occur. Cease administration and make water available. Wait for a day or so and recommence giving a very small daily dose only.. If reaction reoccurs, cease administration your dog may have an allergy to molluscs/seafood.

Consult your vet if you have any concerns. For some animals the powder travelling down the digestive tract may cause irritation and subsequent vomiting. This can be solved by making the powder into balls with for example, olive oil or yoghurt and administering directly into the mouth, or by feeding the unopened capsules hidden in a treat or piece of food so that they are swallowed whole.

My dog has eaten the whole tub what shall I do?

We have completed extensive safety data trials which include the toxicology of Sashas Blend™ and can assure you that Sashas Blend™ meets and exceeds the requirement of the regulatory authority for veterinary medicines.

Your dog may experience some nausea, diarrhoea and possibly some vomiting, similar to what you would if you over indulged on seafood. Just make sure that you keep plenty of water up to your dog. You may even find your dog is a little over active for a few days.

Sashas Blend™ if the largest selling veterinary product in Australia. We do get about 1-2 reports per month and to date there have never been any adverse side effects other than mentioned. However if have concerns see your local vet.

In the meantime, I would not recommence administering Sashas Blend™ for at least another 4-5 days and I would then start back on a 1/2 dose for the first week.

Please report this event to Interpath so that we can record the details. Should you have any questions please contact us immedialtey on 03 5336 4308 or e-mail

Skin Irritaion is not a common reaction to Sashas Blend™, while it may be a form of allergic reaction, is it highly possible that something else may be causing the skin irritation such as spring grasses, or commencement of other medications etc.?

My dog suffers from a luxating patella (kneecap) will Sashas Blend™ help?

Sashas Blend™ may certainly be beneficial to animals with luxating patellas, particularly during the post surgery period as it will help maintain the joint fluid that cushions thepatella. Sashas Blend™ will also assist by conditioning the joint to keep the articular cartilage and joint capsule healthy and by providing Chondro-protectivity; Sashas Blend™ also contains the full range of glycosaminoglycans which are readily absorbed where they are needed most.

Sashas Blend™ is completely natural and safe to take long term we generally recommend you build up to one and a half to double the dosage post surgery to ensure the joint cavity and synovial fluid is replenished and healthy. After two months you can reduce the dose to the standard amount, this will continue to keep your dog active.

What is the difference between Sashas Blend™ & other products containing chondroitin & glucosamine?

It is difficult to compare other Chondroitin & Glucosamine products as there are many factors which need to be considered i.e. where they are sourced from, how they are treated, how effective they are etc.

The body needs the full range of naturally occurring GAG’s (Glycosaminoglycans) which include Keratin, Dermatin, Heparin and the more commonly known Glucosamine & Chondroitin and another equally important compound known as Hyaluronic Acid, these are found in the correct ratios in the GAG’s used in Sashas Blend™.

The GAG’s in Sashas Blend™ are marine based which are more effective than GAGs from other sources, such as bovine trachea, as they remain in the digestive system longer allowing the actives tobe absorbed into the blood stream to reach the affected sites.
